Author Guidelines

Thank you for choosing to submit your paper to Pappangngaja: Journal of Islamic Da'wah and Communication. To ensure a smooth and efficient publication process, we kindly request that all authors strictly adhere to the following guidelines before submitting their manuscripts.

1. General Requirements

  • The manuscript must be original, has not been published previously, and is not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  • The submission file must be in Microsoft Word Document file format (.doc or .docx).
  • Manuscripts should be written in good academic English or Indonesian. Ensure that the text has been thoroughly proofread to avoid grammatical or typographical errors.

2. Manuscript Structure

We highly recommend organizing your research article using the standard IMRaD format:

  • Title: Should be concise, descriptive, and accurately reflect the core of the research (maximum 15 words).
  • Abstract: A single paragraph of 150-250 words summarizing the research background, objective, methodology, key findings, and conclusion. Do not include citations in the abstract.
  • Keywords: Provide 3 to 5 specific keywords separated by semicolons (;).
  • Introduction: Clearly state the background of the study, the gap in the literature, and the specific research objectives related to Da'wah or Communication.
  • Methodology: Describe the research design, participants, data collection instruments, and analytical procedures in sufficient detail.
  • Results and Discussion: Present the findings logically and discuss them in light of existing literature and theoretical frameworks.
  • Conclusion: Summarize the main findings, highlight the research contributions, and provide suggestions for future studies.

3. Formatting and Layout

  • Use standard A4 paper size with standard margins (e.g., 2.54 cm / 1 inch on all sides).
  • The text should be single-spaced, using a readable 12-point font (preferably Times New Roman or similar).
  • All illustrations, figures, and tables must be placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end of the document.

4. References and Citation Style

Pappangngaja uses the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition style for citations and references.

  • Ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa).
  • A minimum of 80% of the references should be from primary literature (journal articles, proceedings) published within the last 10 years.
  • Mandatory: Authors are strongly advised to use a reference management software tool such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote to manage references and format the bibliography.
